Unknown gunmen people attack pro-coalition governor of Shabwa
SHABWA, Nov. 09 (YPA) – Governor of Shabwa province appointed by Hadi’s government loyal to Saudi-led coalition, Mohammed bin Adiu, was attack at his home by unidentified gunmen, local sources reported on Tuesday.
The sources added that unidentified gunmen threw several hand grenades at bin Adiu’s house and fled.
The attack comes against the backdrop of the governor’s re-escalation against the presence of the UAE in Balhaf gas export facility in the province, according to the sources.
The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) had warned against the provocations of Islah Party led by bin Adiu.
These developments coincide with the approaching expiry of the deadline given by “Islah” to the UAE via Saudi mediation to evacuate Balhaf facility, which indicates that the UAE is trying to deliver messages to the governor that any escalation against it may cost his life.
