In solidarity with Kurdahi against intimidation; Arab activists call for an end to the US-backed Saudi-led war on Yemen
SANAA, Oct. 29 (YPA) – Under the hashtag “with George Kurdahi against intimidation” and the hashtag “Yemen disciplines Saudi Arabia,” thousands of Arab and Muslim activists, media professionals, and human rights defenders denounced the Saudi and Emirati campaign against Lebanon’s information minister George Kurdahi, as well as the continuation of the aggression against Yemen.
Hundreds of Lebanese media professionals considered Saudi Arabia’s condemnation of the statements of the Lebanese Minister of Information as terrorism and a blatant interference in Lebanon’s sovereignty. They affirmed their firm position with Kurdahi and his statements.
In response to the Saudi campaign against Lebanon and Minister Kurdahi, the Lebanese journalist Jamal Shuaib wrote: “Indeed, Saudi Arabia is so generous that it distributed tens of thousands of cars to Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, and they were all booby-trapped and loaded with explosives. It established an air bridge to help Yemen, so its planes dropped hundreds of thousands of bombs and missiles, and it did not deprive any Yemeni child of a fatal gift.”
Syrian journalist Yasser Al-Muhalhal wrote: “One of the most important things that George Kurdahi highlighted in his statements about the Saudi aggression on Yemen, and the campaigns of intimidation that followed him, is that honesty, principles, the word of truth and steadfastness on the situation are things that cannot be bought with money and are not taken by blackmail.”
For his part, the Lebanese Sheikh Hassan Kao wrote: “George Kurdahi, the traitor from the Arab perspective, is in solidarity with Yemen. The Yemeni ambassador, who has no popular legitimacy, loyal to the Arab perspective, stood against those who stood in solidarity with his country’s hungry and slaughtered children. We are with Kurdahi against intimidation.”
Nour, a Twitter handle of an activist, wrote: “Saudi Arabia is not a god to be worshiped. The Yemeni people are oppressed, and we have the right to support the oppressed in all parts of the world, even with a word. Yemen is the cemetery of invaders. 30 million oppressed Yemenis…With you, George Kurdahi represents me.”
The condemnation of hundreds of Arab activists supporting the position of George Kurdahi continues, calling for an end to the war on Yemen, which has entered its seventh year.
