German police arrest ex-soldiers trying to form terrorist group in Yemen

SANAA, Oct. 20 (YPA) – The German police have arrested two former soldiers trying to form a terrorist mercenary force to fight alongside the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, the Federal prosecutors said.

The prosecutor said the two soldiers Arend-Adolf G and Achim A faced terrorism charges after police raided in southern Germany.

The soldiers planned to recruit about 150 men for a private army made up of former police officers and soldiers, offering their services to Saudi government for illegal missions in Yemen.

According to prosecutors, the soldiers decided to pay each member of their unit a wage of about €40,000 (£33,700; $46,400) a month for their services.
