$165 million looted from Yemeni oil revenues monthly: YPC

SANAA, Oct. 20 (YPA) – Spokesman for the Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC), Issam Al-Mutawakel, said on Wednesday that $165 million is looted from Yemeni oil revenues monthly while Yemeni people are suffering from an economic crisis.

“We are suffering from a systematic looting operation by the aggression mercenaries and run by the Saudi-led coalition countries targeting the wealth of the Yemeni people,” Al-Mutawakel told Al-Masirah TV channel.

He explained that marine ships came from the UAE are stationed in Yemeni ports to carry out theft operations of Yemeni oil.

Only the proceeds of the ship “Sea Scout”, through which 950,000 barrels of crude oil are looted, can disburse the employees’ salaries for a month, he added.

The spokesman called on the United Nations to take an objective and impartial position, especially in the economic and humanitarian aspects that Yemeni people suffer from.
