Health minister calls on citizens to donate blood

SANAA, June 10 (YPA) – Minister of Health and population Taha Al-Mutawakil called the citizens on Sunday in all the Yemeni provinces to donate blood in blood donation centers to meet the needs of patients and wounded in the hospitals.

The call came to mark the World Blood Donor Day 2018.

The minister’s call was made as the National Center for Blood Transfusion and Research kicked off a donation campaign in the capital Sanaa under the slogan “Your blood donation is your reward to life”.

During the inauguration, Al-Mutawakel stressed the importance of blood donation to meet needs of the blood center, especially under currently conditions of all-out blockade and war imposed by the US-backed Saudi-led coalition on the Yemeni people.
