Turkey: UN unable to solve any problem in the world

SANAA, Oct. 02 (YPA) – Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Cavusoglu said that the United Nations is unable to solve any problem in the world.

“The United Nations today cannot solve any problem in the world, it cannot take measures in any case, nor can it prevent any armed clash,” Cavusoglu said, speaking at a tourism event in Turkey’s western state of Ayden.

He criticized the voting mechanism in the Security Council and the right of veto, saying: “It must change unless it changes. Little by little, the fate of the United Nations will be lost, as is the fate of the League of Nations.”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has repeatedly criticized UN mechanisms, particularly the work of the UN Security Council, of which the permanent members, the United States, Russia, China, France and Britain, have veto power to vote.
