SANAA, Sept. 30 (YPA) – The Yemeni Confederation of Labor Unions (YCLU) condemned on Thursday the international silence regarding maritime piracy and the arbitrary practices by the US-backed Saudi-led coalition towards fuel ships.
The YCLU considered in a statement these practices are a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and the Sweden agreement, which provides for allowing fuel, food and medicine ships to enter and safely reach Hodeida port.
The statement clarified that with UN cover and its silence of the international community have encouraged the aggression coalition against Yemen to continue to piracy, in an attempt to increase the siege, suffering of the Yemeni people, and caused a humanitarian disaster that affected all health and service sectors.
It called on regional and international organizations, unions, media and human rights institutions, activists and human rights defenders, to unite to lift the siege on the Yemeni people.
