Sanaa discusses with WFP cooperation in humanitarian field

SANAA, Sept. 29 (YPA) – The Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation discussed on Tuesday with the World Food Program (WFP) aspects of joint cooperation in the humanitarian field.

This came during the meeting of the Council’s Secretary-General Abdulmohsen Tawoos in Sanaa with Chief of the Procurement Unit at the WFP Headquarters in Rome, Konjit Kidane.

The meeting touched on issues related to the expired food shipments that arrive in Yemen and be returned from the port of Hodeida, and how to solve this problem.

Tawoos stressed that the Council, in coordination with the concerned authorities, cannot allow the entry of any food items that do not comply with quality standards.

He reiterated the Council’s keenness to provide all facilities for the WFP activities in Yemen.

For her part, Konjit confirmed the program’s keenness to address all the problems facing the humanitarian work tracks in cooperation with the council.
