Tribal gunmen seize truck transferring money in Marib

MARIB, Sept. 27 (YPA) – Tribal gunmen in Marib on Monday seized a truck loaded with money, which was part of a convoy transporting central bank funds from Marib to the nearby al-Wadea crossing border.

Tribal sources said that gunmen from the  Al Ashwan intercepted the truck, which was loaded with money from hard currency, and took it to an unknown destination.

In the past two days, the Central Bank of Marib has begun the process of transferring money out of the city, which is under siege  imposed by the National Salvation  government  forces on the entrances  of the city after taking control over the of Abdiyah, Harib and al – Jubah.

This transfer of the money is supervised by Sultan al-Arada, governor of Marib in Hadi government, most of which belonging to officials in Hadi’s government, including  Al-Arada, who fears the fall of the city.

They were also part of arrangements that included the evacuation of the city’s camps from weapons and their distribution to pro-Arad tribes as well as al-Qaeda.
