Military, political leaders loyal to coalition leave Marib

MARIB, Sept. 23 (YPA) – Yemeni military and political leaders loyal to Saudi-led coalition left Marib on Wednesday evening along with their families  and headed towards the Road of Al-Abar-Al-Wadea, well- informed sources said.

The sources explained that the fleeing leaders were seen carrying in cars part of the furniture with their families heading to the port of Al-Wadea as the Yemeni army forces approached the city of Marib.

Earlier sources reported that in the past few hours, prominent local and military leaders had suddenly left the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa province, eastern Yemen.

“Luxury cars accompanied by military vehicles were seen leaving Ataq towards the International Road of Al-Abar,” informed sources said, suggesting that they were major leaders of Islah party.

This comes after the army forces and popular committees on Tuesday took control of over Bayhan district, with the support of the tribesmen. The tribes signed agreements with the army to secure their areas.

Shabwah tribesmen played a major role in liberating their areas, as tribal elders moving to conclude agreements with the army to secure their areas.
