Deputy Minister of Agriculture calls for opening new foreign markets for Yemeni coffee

SANAA, Sept. 21 (YPA) – Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Radwan Al-Rubai has called for the opening of new foreign markets for Yemeni coffee to maintain its agricultural heritage.

This came during the expanded consultative meeting of producers’ associations, merchants and coffee exporters, which was held on Monday, titled “Development and protection of Yemeni coffee. It is our collective responsibility.”

The aim of the meeting is to unite efforts to develop coffee cultivation and productivity.

In the meeting, he pointed out that the inauguration of the coffee revolution coincides with the celebration of the seventh anniversary of the Revolution of September 21.

He stressed that the various agricultural revolutions are the fruits of the 21st of September revolution.

Al-Rubai explained that coffee is a major economic resource, which must be taken care of and developed.

He gave a warning to those who seek to manipulate or monopolize the genetic assets of coffee, as it belongs to the Yemeni people.
