Saudi Arabia insults Hadi’s government, expels dozens of officials from hotel in Riyadh

SANAA, Sept. 20 (YPA) – Saudi authorities expelled a group of leaders and prominent figures in Hadi’s authorities from inside a hotel in Riyadh after the expiry of the month’s deadline granted to them, last week.

Saudi authorities removed the last group of Hadi government officials residing at the Thwary- Hotel in north of Riyadh, and stopped renewing the visas of government officials, including senior officials in Hadi’s office and his government ministers, Al-MahriyaTV reported , citing an  official in Hadi’s government as saying.

Media outlets reported in mid-August that the Saudi Special Committee (an intelligence agency that manages the Yemeni file) expelled political, media and military leaders from the Hotel apartments in Riyadh.

The representative of the Saudi Special Committee “Turki al-Hallis” gave a month to other leaders who remained in the hotel to arrange themselves and get housing at their own expense.

This comes amid rising anger among Saudi authorities over the continued stay of Hadi government officials in Riyadh and other Arab cities, as Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed Al Jaber puts pressures on  Hadi’s authorities to go inside and hold parliamentary sessions to give the faltering confidence of the 50-50 government amid strong opposition from most officials.

According to media, this is a deliberate insult to Hadi government officials, pointing out what was reported last year,  that many governors and deputy  ministers were expelled – in late May 2020 – from the hotels ” Thawary” and “Yamama” north of Riyadh, and were transferred to a residential building in  al-Kharj, south of Riyadh.
