Turkish soldier killed in northern Syria

SANAA, Sept. 08 (YPA) – The Turkish Defense Ministry announced on Tuesday that one of its soldiers had been killed in the Euphrates Shield area in northern Syria.

The ministry said on Twitter that the soldier passed away on Tuesday.

Anadolu Agency reported that the solider was killed when a Turkish base in the area of Operation Euphrates Shield in northern Syria was attacked, adding that a funeral ceremony was held for the Turkish soldier, at the airport of the southern state of Gaziantep, after he was brought there by a military vehicle.

According to Turkish media reports, the Turkish base in al-Bab city north of Syria’s Aleppo province was hit by rocket fire by the People’s Defense Units (YPG) from the Manbij area, in  which resulted the death on one solider and wounding four others.
