NCM expects rain to continue in most governorates

SANAA, Aug. 31 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology expects scattered rain to continue in most provinces during the next 24 hours.

The center stated in its weather bulletin that sporadic moderate to heavy rain is expected at times on the chain of highlands extending from Hadramout and Shabwa in the east to the provinces of Lahj and Taiz in the southwest and extending northward on the western highland chain to Saada province.

The center reported scattered rain in the province s of Bayda, Marib and parts of Jawf provinces, indicating that rain will also fall on parts of the provinces of Aden, Lahj, Abyan, Taiz, Ibb, Dhalea and Abyan.

The center pointed out that the southwest monsoon winds will continue to blow at high speed on the Socotra archipelago.

The center warned citizens in areas where rain is expected to avoid being in the valleys and flood corridors during and after the rain, in order to preserve their safety.

The center warned drivers of vehicles in bends and mountain slopes of reduced visibility as a result of rain or the formation of water mist.

The center also warned ship captains, fishermen and sea-goers in the Socotra archipelago of strong winds and sea turbulence.
