SANAA, Aug. 30 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology expects scattered light to medium and heavy rain in the western mountainous heights, coastal areas and parts of the deserts during the next 24 hours.
The center indicated in its weather bulletin that light to medium and heavy rains are likely to fall on parts of the interior plateaus of the governorates of Bayda, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadhramaut and western Mahra.
The center pointed out that the rains may include parts of the deserts and extend westward to include parts of the mountainous heights of the governorates of Lahj, Dhalea, Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Mahwit, Rima, Hajjah and parts of the western coasts and the adjacent interior areas.

The center warned citizens in areas where rain is expected to avoid being in the valleys and flood corridors during and after the rain, in order to preserve their safety and the safety of their property.
The center warned drivers of vehicles in bends and mountain slopes of reduced horizontal visibility as a result of precipitation and the formation of water mist or fog.
The center also warned fishermen, sea-goers and ship captains around the Socotra archipelago of strong winds, which lead to turbulence in the sea and high waves.
