Afghanistan: Several missiles fired at Kabul airport

KABUL, Aug. 30 (YPA) – Several rockets, which have been fired at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, before being intercepted by US air defense system, a US official confirmed, citing media reports on Monday morning.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that five rockets were fired at the airport, but it was not clear whether the defense system dropped them all or not, Reuters reported.

According to media reports, rockets targeting Kabul airport were fired from a car in Khair Khanh district, northwest of the Afghan capital.

As the withdrawal of US and NATO forces from Afghanistan began in May, the Fall of Afghan States to the Taliban, which finally took control over  the capital Kabul on August 15,

The Kabul international airport is still  under control of the International forces. They are securing  the evacuation of their nationals and a complete withdrawal at the end of this month.
