Two killed in airstrikes in Shabwah

SHABWAH, Aug. 28 (YPA) – Two people were killed and four wounded in two raids targeting gunmen in Shabwah early Saturday, tribal sources said.

Warplanes targeted a group of gunmen travelling in a car in the Shabika area near the city of Ataq, the sources said, adding that the gunmen were returning from attacking Alalam camp belonging to UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias , east of Ataq.

Shabwah has witnessed heavy warplane flights in the past few hours after Alalam camp was targeted by mortar shells as part of the conflict between Islah militants and the STC militia.
