Artillery attacks hit UAE-backed militia camp in Shabwah

SHABWAH, Aug. 28 (YPA) – Multiple explosions rocked one of military camps belonging to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia in the city of Ataq, the center of Shabwah province.

Local sources said that violent explosions caused by artillery attacks targeted ” Alalam camp ” in the city of Ataq.

The UAE camp, which was reinforced a few days ago by two military battalions belonging to the 5th Brigade of Support in al-Dhalea province, led by Brigadier General Mukhtar al-Nawbi, was hit by mortar shells and unidentified artillery shells, the sources said.

The sources confirmed that coalition warplanes flew heavily over the city of Ataq, immediately after targeting the camp. The aggression aircraft launched a raid targeting a car near the network area in the city of Ataq.

According to local sources, the attack came after a fiery statement was issued by Shabwah governor in Hadi’s government, to expel the UAE occupation forces from the Port of Balhaf and Shabwah province.
