Tunisian President Kais Saied reveals assassination attempt targeted him

SANAA, Aug. 21 (YPA) – Tunisian President Kais Saied revealed on Friday that he was targeted by assassination attempts, describing  them “desperate”.

“He said he would continue on the same approach within the framework of the law that allows action to be taken, adding that “the path to reform is difficult and arduous”.

“Some used to work under cover of darkness and constantly betrayed, and also continued to pit foreign countries against the president of the republic, the regime in Tunisia and his homeland,” Saied explained

“The military and security forces will confront them and will never let them reach what they seek,” he said, adding that “some capitals understand that we are not bloodied or those who think of explosives”.

The Tunisian president addressed those who “claim that their reference is Islam”, saying “I know what you are thinking and I fear only God, the Lord of the Worlds.”

He added that they are “thinking about assassination, and I will move if I die today or tomorrow as a martyr to the other bank of existence.”
