SANAA, Aug. 16 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) said rains of varying intensity would be continued on most of Yemeni provinces over the next 24 hours.
The center affirmed in weather forecast on Monday that the medium to heavy rains would fall, accompanied by strong downward winds, on separate areas of the mountainous governorates of Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Rayma, Mahweet and Hajjah, Lahj, Saada, Taiz and on parts of the western coasts.
It stated probability perceptions might fall on the southern coasts and parts of the highlands and hilltops of the governorates of Bayda, Dhalea, Shabwa, Abyan and Hadramout.
The center called on citizens in areas where rain expected to not be present in valleys and waterways during and after the rain, and to take the necessary precautions against thunderstorms and strong downward winds.
The forecast warned motorists to drive carefully mountain roads and coastal plains from reduced horizontal visibility as a result of heavy rain and fog formation, as well as rocks and mudslides.
