2 Russian ships head to Iran to participate in “Sea Cup”

MOSCOW, Aug. 15 (YPA) – The press office of the Southern Russia Military Region has announced that the ships “Makhachkala” and “Astrakhan” of the Russian Caspian Fleet have left Russia for Iran to participate in the “Sea Cup” military competition.

“The two ships left their base on the shores of the Republic of Dagestan Friday and headed to the port of Anzali in Iran to participate in the Sea Cup competitions within the framework of the Jeremiah – 2021 international military competitions,” Russian news agencies quoted an official in the office as saying.

The Sea Cup competitions will be held from August 25 to September 4 at the Iranian naval base, the office added.
