STC leader escapes assassination attempt in Aden

ADEN, Aug. 07 (YPA) – A senior military leader in the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias was subjected on Saturday to an assassination attempt in the city of Aden, south of Yemen.

According to local sources, the commander of the so-called “Ninth Brigade” of the STC, Farouk al-Kalouli, survived a blast of an explosive device that targeted his convoy in the city of Enmaa.

The sources affirmed that device was planted by unknown gunmen on roadside of the city.
