Raisi sworn in before Iranian Parliament

TEHRAN, Aug. 05 (YPA) -The new Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, who is 60 years old, was sworn in Thursday afternoon as the new president of Iran before Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament).

This came in an official inauguration ceremony amid a wide international presence, with the participation of an official delegation from Yemen.

In his speech after taking the constitutional oath, the Iranian president stressed that his country refuses to remain silent about injustice, massacres, and attacks on the rights of innocent people and honorable people.

“We stand by the oppressed everywhere, including Europe, America, Africa, Yemen, Syria and Palestine,” Raisi said.

The Iranian president stressed that foreign interventions did not help solve the problems, but rather the problem itself.
He concluded by saying: “I extend the hand of friendship and brotherhood to all countries of the region, especially neighboring countries.”

On Wednesday, an official Yemeni delegation headed by Mohammed Abdusalam, representing President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, arrived in Tehran in response to an official invitation to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Iranian president.

During his meeting with the delegation of the Republic of Yemen, the Iranian President said that Yemen has become an example of steadfastness and resistance in the face of global arrogance, noting that the Yemeni people should decide the fate of the country by themselves.
