Omani Navy announces operation of a number of ships to secure Sea of Oman
SANAA, Aug. 4 (YPA) – The Omani Maritime Security Center announced that a number of ships of the Omani naval fleet have flown to contribute to securing international waters in the Sea of Oman, after a Panamanian ship called “Asphalt Princess” was hijacked on Tuesday.
The Omani Maritime Security Center said in a statement on Wednesday that “the center continues to follow up and deal with what happened to the camel asphalt Princess in international waters.”
The statement added that “the Royal Air Force of Oman is conducting sorties near the site, and for its part, the Omani Navy has sent a number of its fleet ships to contribute to securing international waters.”
The statement also pointed out that the center “had received information about the exposure of a marine tanker called Asphalt Princess and flying the flag of Panama to a hijacking incident in international waters in the Sea of Oman.”
