Aden port workers denounce new customs tariff
ADEN, Aug. 04 (YPA) – Dozens of workers from the port of Aden on Wednesday staged a protest to denounce the new customs tariff and the collapse of the local currency against foreign currencies.
The protesters raised banners denouncing the deteriorating situation, demanding “Hadi’s government” loyal to Saudi-led coalition and the competent authorities to intervene urgently to stop the customs’ decision, which they described as irresponsible, to save the lives of citizens who suffer from difficult circumstances.
The local market is about to run out of foodstuffs at a time when there are 4,000 containers of foodstuffs parked in the port of Aden due to the high new customs tariff, which reached 100%, protesters explained.
