Health Ministry warns hospitals against violating specified prices

SANAA, Aug. 04 (YPA) – The Ministry of Public Health and Population in Sanaa on Wednesday warned hospitals that do not adhere to the specified pricing for diagnostic services, threatening the violators with closing the diagnostic departments within three days.

This came during an expanded meeting of the Federation and Administrations of Private Hospitals on the pricing of services, the expansion of specialties, the evaluation of the year 2021, and the difficulties as a result of the blockade and the war on Yemen.

The Minister of Health, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel, said the ministry is going to circulate the pricing of the departments of surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, stressing that any excess would face the hospital partial closure.

“We prepare for a performance evaluation that deals with the handling and correctness of hospital procedures towards the patient, with the aim of reducing medical errors,” Dr. Al-Mutawakel added.

He stressed that hospital administrations cannot be excused from their responsibility in view of the rise in medical errors, and the situation has become unacceptable.
