Islah Party loots 120 billion Yemeni riyals from Safer company

MARIB, Aug. 03 (YPA) – Sources familiar to Safer company, east of the city of Marib, revealed about 120 billion Yemeni riyals had been looted from the Safer oil company’s revenues.

The sources affirmed that the looted amount is the largest corruption operation carried out in the firm by the Saudi-backed Islah Party’s leaders.

The sources accused the leader of the Islah party, Salem Mohammed Kaiti, who was appointed as the acting director of the Safer Company, and others leaders, from being involved in looting 120 billion of the revenues of the improved fuel project, C-Five.

According to the sources, the union of workers in the Safer Company demanded payment a share of the looted amount to be distributed to the workers and engineers working on the project according to a prior agreement, but Kaiti refused.

The sources indicated that the union called for an open strike in the “C-5” project, to reveal the fate of 120 billion looted from the project’s revenues.

The Islah leaders who control the Safer oil fields are deliberately absenting standards of transparency and accountability, and disclosing the fate of the huge oil and gas revenues.
