STC militia storm house of senior official in Hadi government in Aden

ADEN, Aug. 03  (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias have stormed the house of a senior official in the Hadi puppet government, as part of a campaign to crack down against Hadi loyalists in Aden city, southern Yemen.

Mushtaq Mubarak Shamlan, an advisor to Hadi’s Minister of Education, said that a military force raided his home in Dar Saad directorate and arrested his younger brother Mohammed Shamlan, holding him hostage in negotiations for the arrest of his other brother Amr, who is wanted a wanted man.

Saleh al-Sayed, commander of the Security Belt mercenary forces in Lahj, was accused of masterminding the operation.

Two days ago, the STC militia launched a campaign against more than 30 members of Hadi’s forces, coinciding with the closure of the headquarters of the most prominent charitable organisation tied to the Islah Party.

This indicates that the campaign is part of an arrangements through which the STC aims to prepare for the announcement of crucial political decisions of its own, probably in direct contradiction to the wishes of the Hadi government.
