SANAA, Jul. 28 (YPA) – Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi affirmed on Tuesday that US combat forces will return home by the end of this year.
“The strategic dialogue is the result of a long period done by government and it is a dialogue in the future of Iraqi-American relations,” he said in a press statement.
“An achievement in the strategic dialogue is that it has unified the positions of the Iraqi political forces.”
“The relationship between Iraq and the United States will turn into a new phase,” al-Kadhimi added.
“His country’s security forces are capable of protecting Iraq’s territory,” he said.
President Joe Biden announced on Monday that by the end of the year the United States will complete its “combat mission” in Iraq to embark on a “new phase” of military cooperation with the country.
