Russia intercepts 4 Israeli missiles over Homs in Syria

MOSCOW, Jul. 25 (YPA) – A prominent Russian general on Sunday said that his country thwarted attempts by Israeli army to attack targets in Homs Governorate, central Syria, on last Wednesday and Thursday.

“A Russian-made air defense system helped intercept an Israeli attack on Wednesday and Thursday nights in Homs Governorate in Syria,” Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper quoted the deputy commander of the Russian forces in Syria, Vadim Kolet, as saying.

According to the Russian general, the missiles of the Russian anti-aircraft missile system “Buk”, destroyed all “four missiles fired by two Israeli planes.”

There was no comment from the Israeli occupation army about what the Russian general said, but Israeli warplanes launched air raids on the night of Wednesday/Thursday in Homs governorate, which left at least one person dead and a number of wounded.
