Israeli occupation arrests 5426 Palestinians during 1st half of 2021

SANAA, Jul. 18 (YPA) – Since the beginning of this year and until June 30, the Israeli occupation forces arrested (5426) Palestinians, Since the beginning of this year and until June 30.

According to the “Palestine Today” agency, the number of arrest cases included (854) children and (107) women, and the number of administrative detention orders issued reached (680) administrative detention orders, including ( 312) is a new command.

The agency added that the number of arrest cases for the month of June reached (615), including (92) children and (24) women, while the number of administrative detention orders reached (100), including (65) new ones, and (35) renewal.

Prisoners and human rights institutions (Detainees and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission, Palestinian Prisoners Club, Addameer Foundation for Prisoner Care and Human Rights, and Wadi Hilweh Information Center – Jerusalem) indicate in a semi-annual report issued, on Saturday, that the number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees in occupation prisons has reached to date. Last June 30, about (4850) prisoners, including (41) female prisoners until the end of June, and at the beginning of this July their number reached (43) female prisoners, while the number of children and minors detainees in the occupation prisons reached about (225), and the number of administrative detainees reached about (540).

The highest rate of arrests was in May, with 3,100 arrests, which were actually linked to the level of confrontation. The arrest campaigns in the occupied territories in 1948 represented a major shift in the arrests taking place. At the time, it reached 2,000 arrests, followed by the percentage in Al-Quds, where the number of arrests from the beginning of the confrontation in the month of April until the end of May (677).

Prisoners’ institutions confirm that the highest rate of arrests in the governorates was recorded in occupied Al-Quds and its towns since the beginning of the year until June, with 1,699 arrests, including (83) females, and (394) children.

Compared to the number of arrests recorded until the middle of last year, the rate has doubled.
