Industry Ministry refers YCSR to Public Prosecution

SANAA, Jul. 17 (YPA) – Ministry of Industry and Trade referred on Saturday the Yemeni Company for Sugar Refining (YCSR) to the Public Prosecution because of raising the prices of sugar without any justification.

In a statement, deputy of the ministry of internal trade sector, Bassam Al-Gharbani, said that the ministry took this measure in accordance with the laws in force to protect the consumer from any attempts to exploit the situation and try to raise prices.

Al-Gharbani pointed out that the ministry directed its offices in the capital and provinces to apply the law and its regulations to violators and manipulators of prices and goods.

He renewed the call for the local authorities to intensify the field visits to monitor the markets, achieve supply stability and control prices.

Al-Gharbani stressed that deterrent legal measures will be taken against violators.
