WASHINGTON, Jul. 04 (YPA) – The United States of America has warned against travel to the UAE, and raised the warning level to the highest level due to the high rate of the outbreak of the Corona virus in the Gulf country.
The U.S. Department of State said, in a statement issued last Monday, “Although the UAE has one of the fastest vaccination programs in the world, but the new daily infections are approaching 2,000 cases.”
The statement indicated that more than a third of the infections in the UAE are from “the delta strain” pathogen that was first discovered in India.
The US State Department’s warning comes as Dubai prepares to host the Expo, which has been postponed since October. Dubai aims to receive 25 million visits and hopes to generate billions of dollars in revenue.
Washington also placed Liberia, Mozambique, Uganda and Zambia at the fourth level of the Corona outbreak.
