Smuggled materials spark armed tension among STC in Aden

ADEN, Jun. 22 (YPA) – Armed tension between the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias factions in Lahj province, south of Yemen, local sources said.

The sources explained that the tension came due to a truck carrying smuggled materials was seized by a security point affiliated with the STC’s security belt in Mudharaba area of Ras al-Ara.

The sources indicated that the members STC’s security belt forces were surprised when several military vehicles belonging to the so-called Saiqa Ninth Brigade of the STC”, led by the commander, Farouq al-Kalouli’s, besieged the security point and detained its members.
