SANAA, Jun. 09 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel, affirmed on Wednesday the ministry’s keenness to strengthen health services in rural areas.
This came during his presidency of a meeting held to discuss the role of the Supreme Medical Council in improving the outputs of universities and medical institutes.
Al-Mutawakel expressed the Ministry’s readiness to train and qualify health cadres and provide them with financial incentives to work in rural areas, directing the Medical Council to formulate conditions that oblige students studying medical colleges and institutes to work in the countryside.
The meeting discussed the needs of health centers in rural areas for qualified health cadres and the Council’s contribution to formulating curricula for medical colleges and institutes as needed, to guarantee qualified medical and health outcomes.
