Dozens rally in Aden to protest against collapse of basic services

ADEN, Jun. 08 (YPA) – Dozens of citizens went out in angry protests to the streets of the city of Aden, south of Yemen, on Tuesday against the collapse of basic services, the deterioration of living conditions and the rise in food prices in the city.

During a rally, the angry demonstrators closed all the main streets by setting fire to tyres in Al-Tawahi area, calling on the Saudi-led coalition to leave.

They held the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias and the Saudi-backed Hadi government the full responsible for deterioration of the essential service and security collapse in Aden.

The protesters denounced the kidnapping of human rights activist, Fouad al-Diqan, on Monday by the STC militia, after storming his house in Tawahi area.
