Yemenis launch online campaign exposing Saudi Arabia’s violations in Mahra

MAHRA, May 31 (YPA) – Yemeni activists launched on Monday an online campaign to expose the violations committed by secret Saudi prisons in Mahra province.

Hundreds of activists tweeted under the hashtag #SecretSaudiPrisonsInMahra to denounce Saudi Arabia’s practices in the province and the grave violations against Mahra people in its secret prisons.

The tweeters said that the more a state represses citizens, this indicates its fear of them, and the more Saudi Arabia increases its means of censorship and suppression on the people of Mahra, this indicates that it feels disloyal to it.

They considered that the strengthening of military barracks and the establishment of secret prisons are all signs of fear of the popular rejection of the Saudi military presence in Mahra.
