President Al-Mashat offers condolences on death of Maj. Gen. Yahya Al-Shami

SANAA, April 26 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, on Monday sent a cable of condolences on the death of Major General Yahya Mohammed Al-Shami, Assistant Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

In the cable, President Al-Mashat praised the virtues of the deceased and his national roles, as he was one of the prominent leaders who contributed effectively to the advancement of the administrative and military work and one of the statesmen who worked with sincerity and devotion during their lives.

President Al-Mashat confirmed that Maj. Gen. Al-Shami had a courageous position in confronting the American-Saudi aggression with all force and firmness until he passed away, noting that with his death the homeland and the armed forces lost one of the most loyal leaders defending Yemen.

President Al-Mashat expressed his sincere condolences and deep sympathy to the deceased’s brother Judge Mutahar Al-Shami, his sons, and all Al-Shami family.
