Hadi gov’t’s defense minister killed in Marib

MARIB, April 26 (YPA) – Minister of Defense of the Saudi-backed exiled Hadi government, Mohammed al-Maqdishi, was killed by the Yemeni army in the west of the city of Marib.

Local sources in Marib province told Yemeni Press Agency on Monday that the Minister of Defense al-Maqdishi was killed on Sunday afternoon, while he was taking a self-portrait with some militants of the Saudi-led coalition between the front of Tibbat al-Masriya and al-Tale al-Hamra, west of the city.

According to the sources, Al-Maqdishi was targeted with a mortar shell, which led to his death, amid great secrecy by the coalition forces.

This came one day after the killing of Major General “Abdullah Al-Hadri, the head of the Military Judicial Department at the Ministry of Defense of the “Hadi government.”
