SANAA, April 20 (YPA) – The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rented a headquarters for its embassy in the building of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, located in the city center.
According to media reports, restoration and modernization work began in the new headquarters, as it was agreed that the UAE flag would fly over the building and at its entrance.
The Stock Exchange building in Tel Aviv consists of 14 floors, 6 of which are underground.
It is located in an old neighborhood that has been modernized and transformed, one of the most luxurious in the city, and near it is the Diesenkov Building, the place where the founding of Israel was declared in 1948.
According to political sources in Tel Aviv, the choice of this place is “an expression of the UAE’s increased interest in the economic issue.”
The UAE had rented a villa in the city of Herzliya (north of Tel Aviv), for the residence of Ambassador “Muhammad Al Khaja,” after he was assigned the task last month.
Al Khaja began exercising his duties from this house, until the official opening of the embassy headquarters.
The ambassador’s wife and four children are expected to arrive in Tel Aviv in the coming weeks, at the end of the school year, when the children are registered in a foreign school in Jaffa.
It is noteworthy that the Israeli embassy in Abu Dhabi operates from a temporary headquarters in the city, but has been operating since the end of last January, with the arrival of the interim ambassador, Eitan Naih.
Also, an Israeli consulate operates in Dubai under the responsibility of Consul General “Ilan Shtulman”.
