SANAA, April 18 (YPA) – The Yemeni army forces backed by the popular committees launched on Saturday major military attack on strategic sites of the Saudi-led coalition forces and Al-Qaeda militants in “Al-Tala’a Al-Hamraa” area, west of Marib city, local sources reported.
The sources said that the army forces and the committees (Sanaa forces) fought fierce battles, as a result of which they were able to control the sites of the coalition forces and al-Qaeda west of the Al-Tala’a Al-Hamraa.
The battles resulted in dozens of dead and wounded among the coalition and Al-Qaeda fighters, the most prominent of the injured was the military leader in the ranks of al-Qaeda members, Abdulelah Naji Al-Qarda’i.
According to the sources, Sanaa forces advanced after their control of the western areas of the Al-Tala’a Al-Hamraa towards the north of the area, where fierce battles are currently taking place between the two parties.
