Protesters surround coalition forces’ headquarters in Aden
ADEN, April 05 (YPA) – Angry protesters blocked all roads leading to headquarters of the Saudi-led coalition forces in the port city of Aden, southern Yemen, on Sunday evening.
According to media sources, dozens of citizens, including women and children, carried out a protest vigil in front of the coalition headquarters in Al-Buraiqa area, denouncing the deterioration of electricity services in the city and demanding that employees’ salaries be paid.
The sources confirmed that the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council’s militias fired live bullets at the demonstrators in an attempt to disperse them, claiming that the demonstration is unlicensed.
The Saudi-backed “Hadi’s government”, since its return from Riyadh to Aden at the end of December 2020, has failed to provide basic services and pay employees’ salaries, which led to the outbreak of angry protests since the beginning of last March.
