Biden comments on US Capitol attack

SANAA, April 03 (YPA) – US President Joe Biden expressed his sorrow over Friday’s incident at a Capitol, in which one officer dead.

” Jill and I were heartbroken to learn of the violent attack at a security checkpoint on the US.Capitol grounds, which killed Officer William Evans of the US Capitol Police, and left a fellow officer fighting for his life. We send our heartfelt condolences to Officer Evans’ family, and everyone grieving his loss,” the White House said in a statement Saturday.

“President Biden is receiving ongoing briefings on the incident and will receive more information as the investigation continues,” the statement said..

Biden ordered that the White House flags be lowered to half-mast.

Police at the US Capitol announced Friday evening said  that a a car rammed a barricade outside the US Capitol, hitting and injuring two of their officers. The incident lead to one officer dead and the driver being shot.
