Armed attack target Trade Union Confederation in Aden

ADEN, March 31 (YPA) – A number of gunmen attacked on Wednesday several members of the Trade Union Federation’s Committee in the city of Aden, southern Yemen.

According to sources, the gunmen on a military vehicle assaulted the Union’s members and looted their bags in one of streets of al-Mansoura district.

The sources indicated that the attack on the members of the Union Committee came after elections for workers in the free zone, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition.

Other sources affirmed that the director of the free zone, Hassan Ahmed Hayd, refused to form the trade union committee demanding the rights of the port’s workers.

According to the sources, Hayd summoned an unknown military force to attack the workers in the port, inside their offices, against the background of establishing the union to defend their looted rights.
