Oman affirms continuing efforts exerted for achieving peace in Yemen

SANAA, March 30 (YPA) – The Sultanate of Oman said on Tuesday that it would continue in its efforts to work closely for reaching a comprehensive political settlement to the Yemen crisis.

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, the Supreme Commander, affirmed in a statement to the Oman’s official news agency, “that the Sultanate continues to work closely with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the UN and US envoys for Yemen, and the concerned Yemeni parties, for reaching a comprehensive political settlement to the current crisis in Yemen.”

Sultan Haitham added, “The Sultanate hopes that these contacts will achieve the desired result in the near future, in order to restore security and stability to brotherly Yemen and preserve the security and interests of the countries of the region.”

Recently, the United Nations and United States envoys to Yemen have held talks in the Oman and Saudi Arabia as part of the ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the sixth-year old crisis in Yemen.
