Thousands of settlers protest against Netanyahu before elections

SANAA, March 21 (YPA) – Thousands of Israeli settlers demonstrated outside the residence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in al-Quds on Saturday, demanding his removal from office “three days” before the fourth general election in two years.

The protesters marched through streets blocked by police in front of traffic carrying flags, drumming, firing car horns and chanting slogans demanding the removal of the 71-year-old prime minister.

Netanyahu’s right-wing Likud party is expected to produce the largest percentage in the March 23 elections, but opinion polls predict that no party will win a majority in parliament or form a government, as has happened in the past three elections.

Pressure has recently increased on Netanyahu, who is on trial for corruption, and his opponents accused him of mismanaging the Coronavirus epidemic.
