Gunman killed in armed attack in Abyan

ABYAN, March 19 (YPA) – A gunman was killed and three others of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) were injured on Friday in an armed attack targeting a military point in Abyan province, south of Yemen.

According to sources, unidentified gunmen attacked the Amrida checkpoint in Al-Wadhi area.

The attack was the second of its kind on the STC’s military points in Abyan during 24 hours.

On Thursday, 14 members of the STC militia were killed, including 6 civilians, in an attack that targeted the “security belt” point in Ahwar district in the same province.
