SANAA, March 10 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel discussed on Wednesday with Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Yemen, Hassan Erlo, areas of health cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting touched on the possibility of supporting aspects of training and qualification for medical personnel, especially in the field of ophthalmology, in addition to supporting hospitals and providing the necessary medical equipment for them.
In the meeting, Dr. Al-Mutawakel affirmed keenness to enhance health cooperation between the two countries, referring to the catastrophic health situation in Yemen as a result of the continued detention of oil derivative ships by the US-Saudi aggression coalition.
For his part, the Iranian ambassador affirmed the readiness to support the health sector in Yemen and work to provide medical devices and equipment, especially about training, rehabilitation, and response to support hospitals.
