MARIB, Feb. 25 (YPA) – Violent clashes broke out on Thursday between Saudi-led coalition forces and the tribesmen هn the west of Marib province, local sources said.
According to the local sources, the coalition forces suffered heavy losses during clashes with al-Zour tribesmen, who are supported by Yemeni army and popular committees.
The clashes came just hours after coalition forces broke their agreement with al-Zour and sent a military force this morning to the northern and eastern sides of the village of Al-Zour.
The sources said that tribesmen backed by the army forces and committees were able to damage many coalition military and armored vehicles.
The sources confirmed that the tribesmen and Sanaa forces advanced towards the positions of the coalition forces in the strategic “Jabal al-Balq” which is one of the main entrance of the Marib Dam.
The tribesmen and Sanaa forces have cleared many strategic areas, the sources added.
The sources pointed out that the fighting is still most intense between coalition forces and the Al-Zour tribes in the same area.
