UAE delegation in Israel to cooperate in “innovation” field

OCCUPIED QUDS, Feb. 20 (YPA) – An official Emirati delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited on Saturday the “Peres” Center for Peace and Innovation in Israel, as part of a wider visit to prepare for the opening of the UAE embassy in Israel.

The delegation met Efrat Duvdevani, Director General of the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation, which was founded by former President Shimon Peres, and they toured the center.

Duvdevani presented the importance of the startup ecosystem in Israel, and said: “President Shimon Peres would have been happy with your visit … I think he would have seen it as a practical realization of his vision for a new Middle East.”

She stressed that “Israeli technologies, products and developments are at the forefront of Israeli innovation.”

The center indicated, in a statement, that the Emirati delegation had requested a visit to the Peres Center to learn about the center’s work in promoting innovation and regional cooperation, and to lay the foundations for cooperative work in the near future.

The ‘Jerusalem Post’ newspaper stated that this visit is “an important next step in the Emirati-Israeli relations.”
